Saurabh Agarwal was named managing director, India for Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, the C$420 billion ($329.3 billion) Montreal-based pension fund manager.
Mr. Agarwal replaces Anita M. George in that role. Ms. George remains an adviser to CDPQ, confirmed Wai Leng Leong, Singapore-based managing director, head of Asia-Pacific at CDPQ.
CDPQ has about C$8 billion invested in India.
Mr. Agarwal retains his prior title and responsibilities as managing director, infrastructure, South Asia with CDPQ India.
Separately, Harsh Singhal, managing director of growth markets and strategic partnerships at CDPQ India, has left to pursue other opportunities. A spokesman for the fund declined to comment on plans to replace Mr. Singhal.
A recent addition to the CDPQ India team, however, was Kenneth Juster, the former U.S. ambassador to India, who joined the fund late last year in the role of senior adviser, the spokesman said.
