Marlene Timberlake D'Adamo was named chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, effective immediately, at the $469.8 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, according to a news release Monday.
Ms. Timberlake D'Adamo had been serving in the DEI position on an interim basis since June 2020, in addition to her role as chief compliance officer, which she began in 2016.
In her new position, Ms. Timberlake D'Adamo partners with the Sacramento-based pension plan's environmental, social and governance investment team to help identify and analyze emerging diversity, equity and inclusion issues and investment opportunities. She reports to CalPERS CEO Marcie Frost.
CalPERS is launching a search for a new chief compliance officer. An interim chief compliance officer has not yet been named, spokeswoman Megan White said in an email.
