Mark Mansley resigned as CIO of Brunel Pension Partnership, Bristol, England, confirmed a spokesman for the pension fund pool.
Mr. Mansley has spent the past three years building the local government pension scheme's investment team. The pool has about £30 billion ($36.3 billion) in assets.
"As Brunel moves on to the next stage of its development, Mark has decided to leave Brunel to pursue other opportunities," a notice on the Brunel website said Tuesday. Details about his plans could not be learned.
Brunel's board will soon begin the recruitment process for a new CIO. Details about any interim replacement were not available.
The investment team manages assets across equities, bonds, liquid alternatives and private markets.
