David Stafford was named interim CIO of the $3.4 billion Austin (Texas) City Employees' Retirement System, said David T. Veal, the pension fund's current CIO, in an email.
Mr. Stafford currently is director of investment strategy and replaces Mr. Veal, whose last day at the retirement system is Friday.
Mr. Veal will join the $33.5 billion Texas Employees Retirement System, Austin, as CIO in August, replacing Charles Thomas "Tom" Tull, who is retiring.
Christopher Hanson, executive director of Austin City Employees, could not be reached for information about Mr. Stafford's replacement as director of investment strategy and whether a timeline for a search for a new CIO has been set.
