Martin Praestegaard was named CEO of ATP, Hilleroed, Denmark, the 927.5 billion Danish kroner ($136.9 billion) pension fund said in a statement Wednesday.
Mr. Praestegaard, currently deputy CEO and chief financial officer, will start in his new role July 1, replacing Bo Foged, who was named CEO in June 2019.
On Feb. 14, Mr. Foged said he was resigning to join Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners as a partner and chief financial officer. His last day at ATP will be June 30.
Mr. Praestegaard served as permanent secretary in Denmark's Ministry of Finance until August 2019. In the statement, he said, "ATP plays a crucial role in the Danish welfare society not only in relation to the efficient administration of public benefits and financial security for pensioners, but also in relation to Denmark's green transition."
A call to ATP was not immediately returned.
