Christine Schmitz will join ATP, Hilleroed, Denmark, as deputy director to lead a new unit that will administer the country's "senior pension."
ATP was chosen last year by the Danish Ministry of Employment to administer the senior pension, starting Jan. 1. The new unit will take over the administration of benefits to qualifying participants in Denmark who apply to receive their pensions early because of disability.
She is to start Aug. 15, a translation of a news release said.
The senior pension was introduced on Jan. 1 and is currently administered by individual municipalities. The government decided to transfer the task to a single unit to ensure decisions on who is granted the senior pension are uniform, the release said.
Further details could not immediately be learned.
ATP has 889.5 billion Danish kroner ($140.8 billion) in assets.
Ms. Schmitz joins from Deloitte Consulting where she was a partner.
