Mikkel Svenstrup was named CIO of Hilleroed, Denmark-based ATP effective March 1, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Svenstrup will replace Bo Foged in that position. Mr. Foged, CEO of the 933 billion Danish kroner ($138 billion) fund, was interim CIO following the departure of Kasper Ahrndt Lorenzen, who was named group managing director and group CIO of the 740 billion Danish kroner pension provider PFA Pension, Copenhagen, in September.
"(Mr. Svenstrup) brings with him not only an impressive theoretical foundation, but also deep insights and solid practical experience from all the core investment disciplines. In addition, he has practical experience both from the sales and the management sides, so I'm very pleased to be able to welcome (him) as part of the management team," Mr. Foged said in a news release.
Mr. Svenstrup serves as CIO of P+, Frederiskberg, Denmark, the administrator of Lawyers' and Economists' Pension Fund, known as JOP, and the Engineers' Pension Fund, known as DIP, which together have 120 billion Danish kroner in assets.
