Daniel E. Zito, executive director and chief investment officer of the $2.5 billion Arlington County (Va.) Employees' Retirement System, plans to retire in the next year.
Mr. Zito, who joined the retirement system in January 2008 and became CIO in October 2010, said in an email that he and the board agreed to work toward a transition "this time next year."
Mr. Zito said his departure date is flexible and he is "happy to do whatever (is) necessary to make the transition a smooth one."
The pension fund's board of trustees made a resolution at its March 5 meeting to have a replacement in place by March 2021 and formed a committee to begin the search for a new executive director and CIO.
