Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, Phoenix, invested an additional $100 million in JANA Strategic Investments Benchmark Fund.
The $20.7 billion pension fund completed the investment in the hedge fund managed by JANA Partners on Feb. 27, said spokesman Christian Palmer.
PSPRS originally invested $100 million in the JANA Partners fund in 2021.
JANA Partners is an activist hedge fund manager founded in 2001 that focuses on midcap firms.
As of Jan. 31, the pension fund’s actual allocation to capital appreciation was 62.7%
