Rasmus Cederholm was named CIO of AP Pension, Copenhagen, effective June 1, a spokesman said.
Mr. Cederholm will replace Ralf Magnussen, who will join Nykredit Asset Management as CEO.
Mr. Cederholm is currently head of equities at the pension fund, which had 171.3 billion Danish kroner ($28.3 billion) as of Dec. 31. The name of his replacement has not yet been published, the spokesman said.
Mr. Cederholm has no plans to overhaul the investment department as he will be taking charge of a strong and well-functioning team, a translation of a news release said.
He joined AP Pension in 2017, joining from Nykredit.
