Ruta Ziverte was named head of fixed income by William Blair Investment Management, with responsibility for managing the firm's fixed-income team and developing the firm's growth strategy.
Ms. Ziverte replaces Christopher Vincent, whose retirement from William Blair was announced in 2018.
"Mr. Vincent will remain at the firm in the near term as a portfolio manager and to facilitate the transition," said Steven Schaefer, a company spokesman, in an email.
Ms. Ziverte is based in the firm's Chicago office and reports to Stephanie Braming, partner and global head of William Blair Investment Management. "We are delighted that Ruta has joined the firm to lead out fixed-income growth initiative with other members of the team," Ms. Braming said in a news release.
Ms. Ziverte was a senior high-yield portfolio manager at Oppenheimer Funds, where she managed the firm's Global High Yield Fund and was co-manager of the Global Strategic Income Fund. Invesco acquired Oppenheimer Funds in May.
Jeaneen Terrio, an Invesco spokeswoman, could not immediately say who replaced Ms. Ziverte.
William Blair managed a total of $54.2 billion as of Sept. 30, which included about $1 billion was in fixed-income strategies.
