Amelia Kennedy joined Wasatch Global Investors as the Salt Lake City-based equity boutique's head of institutional business development for the Asia-Pacific region.
The position is new.
Ms. Kennedy will be tasked with growing the firm's Asia-Pacific business by building on the firm's foothold in Australia, where it manages A$788 million ($564 million) for local clients, Eric Bergeson, Wasatch Global's president, said in a news release.
Mr. Bergeson credited his firm's growth in Australia thus far to its work with Melbourne-based placement agent Terrain Placement Services and said Wasatch Global looks forward to "continuing our strong relationship" with that firm.
Ms. Kennedy, in an email, said covering the Asia-Pacific region from Salt Lake City for now will give her the chance to get to know the people and the culture at Wasatch, which is key to better serving clients and prospective clients going forward. She said decisions on where she should be based could be reassessed in the future "if and when our clients require."
Ms. Kennedy said she relocated from Sydney, where she was the head of research and governance at ANZ Private Banking & Advice. A spokesman at ANZ Private couldn't immediately provide details on whether she had been replaced in that role.
