William W. Tice was promoted to president and CIO of Vida Capital Management on March 1.
Mr. Tice replaced Jeffrey R. Serra, the firm's founder, in the roles. Mr. Serra remains CEO of Vida Capital, the parent company of the asset manager, spokesman Daniel Gagnier said in an interview
Mr. Tice was senior managing director, marketing, investor relations and business development for Vida's money management unit.
Mr. Tice now oversees all of the firm's investment strategies including life-settlement investments; insurance-linked securities through Vida's strategic partnership with Merion Square Capital; and special situations. He continues to focus on capital raising, investor relations and business development and reports to Mr. Serra, Mr. Gagnier said.
Brian O'Grady, previously managing director, marketing, was promoted to senior managing director and head of marketing, Mr. Gagnier said. He reports to Mr. Tice.
"Bill has been an integral part of the growth and advancement of the Vida enterprise since joining in 2014," Mr. Serra said in a news release, adding, "Bill was the natural and right choice" for his new roles.
Vida Capital Management runs $4.4 billion in assets under management and advisement, of which $882 million is managed for institutional investors.
