James Ong joined Value Partners Group in Singapore on Monday as managing director, head of Southeast Asia and CEO of Singapore.
The positions are new ones at the Hong Kong-listed money manager, a spokeswoman for the firm said. Mr. Ong will report to President June Wong.
Mr. Ong comes to Value Partners from State Street Global Advisors, where he served as managing director and head of Southeast Asia, overseeing the firm's institutional and intermediary businesses in the region.
An SSGA spokeswoman said Kheng Siang Ng, the firm's Singapore-based head of fixed income for the Asia-Pacific region, will become the "legal entity head" for State Street Global Advisors Singapore as well.
Value Partners Group had roughly $10.7 billion in assets under management as of Oct. 30.
