Otto Choi joined Hong Kong-based money management firm Value Partners Group on Monday as senior director, institutional business.
A spokeswoman for the firm declined to say who Mr. Choi is replacing in that role, which is focused on developing Value Partners' institutional business in North Asia.
Mr. Choi will report to June Wong, Value Partners' president.
He comes to Value Partners from Allianz Global Investors, where he served as that firm's Hong Kong-based head of institutional business, China.
An AllianzGI spokeswoman said a search to fill that role is underway.
Value Partners had $8.3 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
