Darren Rabenou was named head of food and agriculture and head of ESG investment strategies at UBS Asset Management, a spokeswoman confirmed Thursday in an email.
Both positions are new.
As head of ESG investment strategies, Mr. Rabenou will cover real estate, infrastructure, private equity and agriculture within the firms' real estate and private markets business. As head of food and agriculture, he is to help launch and oversee new initiatives to accommodate investment interest in agriculture. He will be based in New York and report to Joe Azelby, head of real estate and private markets at UBS Asset Management.
Mr. Rabenou was a partner within the fund management business of what's now Illume Agriculture (formerly Fabbri Farming Co.), a Bakersfield, Calif.-based farm management and agricultural investment company. A company representative could not be immediately reached for additional information.
UBS Asset Management had $1.1 trillion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
