Christophe Gantenbein was named global head of private markets institutional solutions at Union Bancaire Privee, effective Jan. 1, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Based in Zurich, Mr. Gantenbein is responsible for UBP's private markets business, institutional clients, and new strategic partnerships.
He reports directly to Nicolas Faller, co-CEO of asset management and head of institutional clients at UBP.
Mr. Gantenbein was previously member of Partners Group's management and was responsible for European institutional client solutions since 2010. A spokesman could not be reached to provide details about his replacement.
UBP had 148.2 billion Swiss francs ($155.2 billion) in assets under management as of June 30.
