Tatjana Puhan was named managing director and deputy CIO at TOBAM, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Ms. Puhan leads investment teams, working closely with the firm's trading and research teams to develop a strategic and research agenda. She also supports TOBAM's product development and engagement with clients and intermediaries.
"Tatjana brings substantial knowledge to this role, with her experience in leading and developing research-driven systematic and quantitative investment strategies particularly aligned with TOBAM's core activities," said Yves Choueifaty, president and CIO at TOBAM, in a news release.
Ms. Puhan was head of equity and asset allocation at Swiss Life Asset Managers. A spokeswoman said Jose Antonio Blanco, head of investment management for third-party asset management took over leadership of the multiasset team since Ms. Puhan's departure. "In the interim. he also acts as head of equity until we appoint the new head. The details of the new appointment will follow in due course," she said.
TOBAM had $8.5 billion of assets under management as of Dec. 31.
