Christopher Schelling was named managing director at Windmuehle Funds, an alternative investment manager of managers.
Mr. Schelling said he will join the firm April 27.
In his new role, Mr. Schelling will be responsible for sourcing hedge fund, real assets, private credit and private equity managers and new investments, a Windmuehle news release said.
Mr. Schelling currently is director of private equity for the $31.5 billion Texas Municipal Retirement System, Austin. Texas Muni spokesman Bill Wallace did not immediately reply to a request for information about Mr. Schelling's replacement.
"I've known Chris for several years and I believe he is a great talent. He's a thought leader, a skilled investor and a great fit for our growing team," said Robert C. Lee III, Windmuehle's founder, managing director and CIO, in the release.
Mr. Lee founded Windmuehle Funds in 2018 after departing from the $1.3 billion Texas Tech University System, Lubbock, where he served as deputy CIO.
The firm manages $215 million.
