David Kim has been named managing director and head of Japan at TCW Group.
It is a new position, a spokesperson confirmed.
Based in Tokyo, Kim reports to Jennifer Grancio, global head of distribution, said an Oct. 30 news release.
Kim is responsible for “overseeing the expansion of TCW's presence and offerings in Japan, leading Japanese distribution strategy and execution, and managing TCW's growing team in Tokyo,” the news release said.
Kim formerly was a partner and head of Japan wealth and asset management at McKinsey & Co., “where he was responsible for developing growth strategies and improving operations for Japanese asset management and wealth management clients,” the release said. McKinsey could not be immediately reached for further details.
TCW manages about $200 billion in client assets.
