Peter Van Gelderen will join TCW Group as global co-head of the securitized group in early October.
Mr. Van Gelderen is replacing Harrison Choi, who left the firm in June, a TCW spokesman said by email. He will join Elizabeth J. Crawford, who has served as global co-head of the securitized group since 2020.
Mr. Van Gelderen and Ms Crawford "will lead securitized product research and investment decisions to support the expansion of TCW's fixed income assets and capabilities," a news release added.
Mr. Van Gelderen will report to Stephen Kane and Bryan Whalen, the firm's co-chief investment officers.
Most recently, Mr. Van Gelderen served as senior portfolio manager and head of securitized markets at American Century Investments, where he was responsible for all core, core-plus, income and government mortgage funds and ETFs.
"We have initiated a search for Peter's replacement," a spokeswoman for American Century said by email. "In the interim, Charles Tan, global fixed income co-CIO, will step in."
TCW manages about $210 billion in client assets.
