Raymone Jackson was named the global head of diversity and inclusion at T. Rowe Price Group and will join the firm in late October, a spokesman at the company said Monday.
Mr. Jackson will be "responsible for the firm's global diversity and inclusion strategy, overseeing current diversity and inclusion programs and envisioning new strategies to help T. Rowe Price improve the attraction, development, and retention of diverse associates," a news release from the firm said. He will partner closely with T. Rowe's management committee, the firm's Black Leadership Council and other employee-led business resource groups, the release said.
Mr. Jackson will report to Michelle Swanenburg, the firm's head of global human resources and a member of the firm's management committee, according to the spokesman.
The global head of diversity and inclusion role is not a new role at T. Rowe, but "an evolution" of the role previously held by Tom Kazmierczak, who was the firm's head of diversity and inclusion, a spokesman said in an email.
"Earlier this year, Tom informed us that he wanted to return to a role supporting the firm's clients. The details of Tom's return are still being finalized, and in the meantime, Tom will continue to support our D&I efforts as well as Raymone's transition into this role," the spokesman wrote. "Tom's titular role was not defined as global, hence the evolution of the role. He was responsible for the firm's diversity and inclusion strategy."
Mr. Jackson had been a national diversity officer in the wealth management unit of Morgan Stanley. A spokeswoman at Morgan Stanley said the firm is "actively assessing candidates to succeed him."
