Chris Tarui was named vice president and business development executive, alternatives, at T. Rowe Price Group.
It is a new position, said spokesman Bill Benintende. Mr. Tarui leads the money manager's global business development efforts with institutional alternative investment clients.
He reports to Christopher C. Newman, head of Americas and member of the manager's global distribution executive committee.
Mr. Tarui was previously executive vice president, institutional account manager, at Pacific Investment Management Co. PIMCO spokeswoman Agnes Crane could not be immediately reached for further information.
As of May 31, T. Rowe Price Group had $1.59 trillion in assets under management.
