Theodore Economou was named head of asset management at impact investing specialist Symbiotics, a spokesman said.
Mr. Economou replaced Valerie Dujardin, who took on a governance role within the firm last spring, a news release said.
Based in Geneva, he leads portfolio construction, money management, client relationship management and product development for the firm.
"To lead our portfolio and client management functions, we were looking for a combination of global investment management expertise, leadership skills and experience in asset management and with asset owners. Theodore offers this precise combination," the spokesman said in an email.
Symbiotics is a market access platform for impact investing, focusing on helping to finance micro, small and medium businesses, and low- and middle-income households in emerging and frontier markets. It has structured and originated some 4,000 deals for more than 450 companies, representing $5.5 billion. Assets under management were $2.4 billion as of March, the spokesman said.
Mr. Economou was CIO of Lombard Odier Investment Managers' multiasset group. Aurele Storno assumed the role in May 2020, a spokesman for LOIM said. Mr. Storno was head of the asset allocation group at LOIM. He retains his roles managing the firm's "all roads" strategies and as CIO of the Lombard Odier Pension Fund, Geneva.
