Gordon Kearney was appointed as head of investments for Europe at State Street Global Advisors, according to a news release.
He will be based in Dublin and report to Olivia Engel, head of investment strategy and operations.
Kearney oversees portfolio management activities and investment staff across Europe, alongside serving as the designated representative in Europe for clients and relevant regulators on all investment matters.
Kearney succeeds James Binny, who announced his retirement last year.
“Gordon’s extensive experience in the industry is an invaluable asset to our success, and we look forward to continue working together with Gordon in strengthening our relationships with clients and regulators, and building on our growth in Europe,” Engel said in the news release.
Kearney has been at SSGA since 2007, most recently as a senior investment manager in the investment solutions group, leading on tactical asset allocation portfolio management in Europe.
SSGA had $4.73 trillion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
