Rakhi Kumar, senior managing director and chief strategist for ESG and asset stewardship at State Street Global Advisors, is leaving the firm in May to pursue other opportunities.
"Rakhi has been at the forefront of our ESG and asset stewardship efforts, including being a voice for the importance of gender diversity on boards, pushing to strengthen integration of ESG factors across our investment organization, developing the firm's ESG investment philosophy and global business strategy," SSGA said in a statement. "We wish her the best as she begins the next phase of her career."
Ms. Kumar, who is not involved with the portfolio management of any funds or strategies, worked closely with the investment team strategists, most recently focusing on implementation and disclosure related to frameworks developed by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, among other initiatives.
There are no plans to replace Ms. Kumar. There are a dozen members of the asset stewardship team globally, "and we will continue to grow the team as appropriate," the statement said.
Robert Walker and Benjamin Colton serve as co-heads of asset stewardship.
