Anna Murray was named managing director and global head of ESG at SLC Management.
The position is new, a spokeswoman said in an email. Ms. Murray will report to Steve Peacher, president of SLC Management.
Based in Toronto, she will build environmental, social and governance and risk mitigation processes into the firm's investment management activities, a news release said Tuesday.
Ms. Murray will also be responsible for aligning the firm's ESG reporting and sustainability efforts with SLC Management's parent company, Sun Life Financial.
She is currently leading the sustainable investing team at SLC's real estate money manager BentallGreenOak and plans to continue in that role, the news release said.
As of March 31, SLC Management had C$308 billion ($244.2 billion) in assets under management.
