R. Martin Chavez was named vice chairman and partner at money manager Sixth Street Partners.
He began the new role on May 1 and will help lead various strategic initiatives at Sixth Street including enhancing the firm's digital capabilities, spokesman Patrick Clifford said in an email.
Mr. Chavez, who has served as a senior adviser since January, had been executive vice president and chief financial officer at Goldman Sachs before retiring in 2019.
Sixth Street Partners has more than $50 billion in assets under management.
