Rai Katimansah joined SC Capital Partners in Singapore as a managing director, focused on opportunistic real estate debt.
The position is new, an SC Capital spokesman said.
SC Capital Partners Group has $5.8 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Katimansah will focus on the firm's opportunistic Real Estate Capital Asia Partners (RECAP) fund series. The investment period for the series' fifth fund, which closed in 2017 with roughly $650 million in commitments, has finished, the spokesman said. He declined to comment on plans for a fund VI.
Mr. Katimansah joined from Sun Hung Kai & Co., where he was a partner and portfolio manager for that firm's Multiple Capital Investment Partners global real estate debt fund.
A Sun Hung Kai spokeswoman confirmed Mr. Katimansah's departure but declined to comment on plans to replace him in those roles.
