Wen Nannen has been named as executive vice president and chief investment officer for Securian Asset Management.
Ms. Nannen was also appointed vice president and CIO of Securian Financial, the asset manager's parent corporation, said a Monday release.
She reports to Suzette Huovinen, president, CEO and chairwoman of Securian Asset Management.
As CIO of both Securian Financial and Securian Asset, Ms. Nannen succeeds Sean O'Connell, who "unexpectedly passed away in early June, shortly before his planned retirement," said a spokesman for Securian Financial by email.
Ms. Nannen is responsible for all aspects of Securian Financial's and Securian Asset Management's investment decision-making processes, day-to-day oversight of Securian Financial's general account, and managing the assets of Securian Funds Trust and other affiliated portfolios, the release noted.
Ms. Nannen was formerly at Lincoln Financial Group, where she served as managing director, head of public corporate portfolio and ESG investment lead.
Securian Asset Management had $43.4 billion in assets under management as of March 31, according to the company's website.
A spokeswoman for Lincoln Financial said by email that "we are currently evaluating next steps" for Ms. Nannen's former role there.
