Laura Baron has been named chief operations officer at impact fund manager SDS Capital Group.
It is a new position, an SDS spokesperson confirmed.
Baron will “oversee companywide operations, ensuring the execution of SDS’ strategic initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency,” said a news release Jan. 22.
Her experience in financial management, capital deployment and operational infrastructure development “positions her as a natural fit for this pivotal role,” the news release said.
Baron was chief financial officer at the firm and initially joined SDS in 2009. The spokesperson said Controller Gail Escudero will assume the duties of chief financial officer — but will not hold that title — until a replacement is found.
SDS is a platform of impact funds that focus on creating jobs and housing throughout the U.S. The firm has $1.4 billion in assets under management.
