Alex Tedder was named co-head of equities at Schroders as part of a series of public markets-focused promotions.
The position is new, a spokesperson confirmed. Tedder works alongside Rory Bateman, co-head of equities. Tedder and Bateman have worked together extensively over the past decade.
Tedder oversees the global, quantitative and developed markets investment desks, while Bateman is responsible for the Asian and emerging markets investment teams. Tedder also retains his portfolio management responsibilities.
Tedder was head of global equities and is succeeded in the role by Simon Webber. Webber was a portfolio manager and has worked in partnership with Tedder as a leader on the global and international equities team since 2014, the spokesperson said.
Schroders also named Mark Lacey as head of thematic equities, a new position. He will steer the teams that invest in five pivotal areas representing key trends that Schroders said are shaping the world and future of investing: climate change, natural capital management, technological innovation, demographics and societal change.
Lacey was head of global resource equities and continues with his current portfolio management responsibilities.
Schroders had £750.6 billion ($955.5 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
