Julien Houdain was named deputy head of credit for Europe at Schroders, a spokesman said.
The role is new. Mr. Houdain complements the firm's risk management capability across global credit markets with a dynamic approach, reporting to Patrick Vogel, head of credit for Europe.
"Julien is a highly valued addition to Schroders' credit platform. He has a great deal of experience in managing complex global credit strategies and identifying opportunities to deliver robust performance for clients," Mr. Vogel said in a news release.
Mr. Houdain joined Schroders from Legal & General Investment Management, where he was head of global bond strategies. An LGIM spokeswoman said Matthew Rees replaced him in the role.
Schroders managed £444.4 billion ($563.9 billion) in assets as of June 30 and £78.1 billion in fixed income.
