Georgette Baxter was named director of business development and client service at RhumbLine Advisers.
A spokeswoman for RhumbLine said by email that Ms. Baxter will be based in Boston.
"This is not a newly created position but an addition to the business development and client service team," the spokeswoman added.
Ms. Baxter is "responsible for promoting RhumbLine's products and services and deepening its relationships with clients and consultants," the firm said in a news release Wednesday.
She will report to CEO Denise D'Entremont, the release added.
Ms. Baxter has more than 18 years of industry experience in client service, business development and consultant relations across equity, fixed income, and private real estate asset classes, RhumbLine said in the release.
She previously was a vice president at ASB Real Estate Investments in its client services and marketing group. A spokeswoman for ASB said by email that Ms. Baxter left ASB on April 1. A replacement for Ms. Baxter "has not yet been identified," the spokeswoman said, and others on the client services team are handling her duties.
ASB Real Estate Investments had more than $9.5 billion in gross assets under management as of March 31, according to the firm's website.
Based in Boston, RhumbLine is a women- and minority-owned institutional investment firm specializing in index-based products. The firm managed more than $92 billion in assets as of March 31.
