Yesim Tokat-Acikel joined Principal Asset Management on Jan. 3 as managing director and portfolio manager.
She also leads Principal's dynamic-risk team, which focuses on the formation, execution and management of the investment strategy and portfolio construction of dynamic-risk multiasset investment strategies, a news release said.
Ms. Tokat-Acikel, who is based in New York, replaces Greg Tornga, a managing director and asset allocation portfolio manager who left Principal in 2022, a Principal spokesman said in an email.
Ms. Tokat-Acikel previously was a managing director, head of multiasset research and co-head of ESG for PGIM Quantitative Solutions.
William Liang, a principal, replaced Ms. Tokat-Acikel in her role as head of PGIM's multiasset research. He previously was a portfolio manager and will not be replaced in that role, a PGIM spokeswoman said in an email.
Ms. Tokat-Acikel's other duties were assumed by others in PGIM Quantitative Solutions, the spokeswoman said.
"As investors work to navigate market shocks, our asset allocation team designs and delivers innovative portfolios to help clients mitigate risk and optimize returns," said Todd Jablonski, Principal Asset Management's chief investment officer, asset allocation, in the news release.
"Yesim brings significant portfolio management, quantitative solutions and research experience supported by her background developing dynamic multiasset strategies. The addition of her to our team will further support our ability to continue to develop and manage long-term global strategies to our clients," Mr. Jablonski added.
Principal Asset Management had $484.6 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
