Barbara Wenig was named executive director of global operations and platforms at Principal Global Investors, spokesman Phillip Nicolino said.
It is a new position. Ms. Wenig, who will contribute to efforts to advance the money manager's global strategies and strategic initiatives with distribution and investment teams, reports to Kamal Bhatia, chief operating officer of Principal Global Investors, and president and CEO of Principal Funds.
Ms. Wenig was previously managing director, head of client platform at Neuberger Berman. Spokesman Alexander Samuelson said Ms. Wenig's responsibilities have been taken on by other leaders at the firm and she will not be directly replaced.
As of June 30, Principal Global Investors had $576.8 billion in assets under management.
