PineBridge Investments appointed Omar Slim and Andy Suen as co-heads of Asia ex-Japan fixed income.
Messrs. Slim and Suen's appointments were effective Jan. 3.
The two veterans jointly take over those duties from Arthur Lau, who was head of Asia ex-Japan fixed income and co-head of emerging markets since 2011. Mr. Lau will retire in June after a period of transition.
Messrs. Slim and Suen have served as senior portfolio managers on PineBridge's Asia ex-Japan fixed income team over the past decade or so. They now report to Steven Oh, PineBridge's Los Angeles-based global head of credit and fixed income.
Mr. Slim, based in Singapore, joined PineBridge in 2013. He is now managing director, co-head of Asia ex-Japan fixed income and portfolio manager within the Asian fixed income team and is responsible for managing strategies investing in Asian credit, rates, and foreign exchange markets.
Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Suen joined Pinebridge in 2012 and now holds the position of senior vice president, co-head of Asia ex-Japan fixed income and portfolio manager. He is responsible for portfolio management of Asia credit strategies and leading a team of research analysts focused on the region's issuers and trends.
The firm's fixed income team manages over $13.8 billion in assets and is supported by portfolio management, research and trading teams based in Hong Kong and Singapore.
