Kirk Sweeney was named Asia-Pacific CEO at New York-based PineBridge Investments on Monday.
Mr. Sweeney replaces Anthony Fasso in the Hong Kong-based CEO role.
Mr. Fasso said in an email he left PineBridge late last year to return to Australia, in part for family reasons, and is considering regional advisory and board roles at present.
Mr. Sweeney comes to PineBridge from the Hong Kong office of New York-based multistrategy hedge fund firm ExodusPoint Capital Management, where he served as head of Asia and CEO, Hong Kong, according to a PineBridge news release.
A spokesman for ExodusPoint declined to comment.
Mr. Sweeney will report to Gregory A. Ehret, PineBridge's New York-based CEO.
PineBridge reported $148.7 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
