Annisa Lee joined Pacific Investment Management Co. in Hong Kong on Monday as executive vice president and head of Asia-Pacific credit research.
Ms. Lee replaces Stephen Chang, portfolio manager, Asia, who added the credit research role on an interim basis after Raja Mukherji left PIMCO in mid-2018, a PIMCO spokeswoman said.
Mr. Chang remains at PIMCO in Hong Kong as portfolio manager for Asia.
The spokeswoman said she couldn't provide further details regarding Mr. Mukherji. Mr. Mukherji couldn't be reached for comment.
Ms. Lee comes to PIMCO from Nomura's investment banking business in Hong Kong, where she served as head of Asia ex-Japan flow credit analysis.
At Nomura, Ms. Lee has been replaced as head of flow credit analysis by Varun Varshney.
Ms. Lee will lead a team of eight credit analysts based in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney, working with the PIMCO portfolio management team in Asia, led by Mr. Chang, to expand the firm's credit strategy offerings across Asia, according to a PIMCO news release.
She will report to Christian Stracke, PIMCO's global head of credit research.
Mr. Stracke, in the news release, said Asia credit, including China, "continues to be one of the fastest growing areas in global fixed income markets, offering exciting relative value opportunities" for global clients and Asian clients alike.
