Philip Straehl was named chief investment officer, Americas, for Morningstar Investment Management’s wealth platform, according to a June 3 news release.
He replaces Marta Norton, who left the firm to join record keeper Empower Retirement as chief investment strategist, that firm also announced on June 3.
Straehl is a longtime Morningstar veteran who most recently served as CIO for quantitative strategies at Morningstar Investment Management. The news release did not say who would be succeeding him in that role.
Straehl reports to Dan Kemp, global CIO of Morningstar Investment Management.
