Piet Klop was named head of the PGGM responsible investment team, the Dutch pension manager said in a news release.
Mr. Klop has been with PGGM since 2011 and was interim manager for the 15-person team within PGGM, which managed €274 billion ($310.1 billion) in assets as of June 30 for Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn, Zeist, Netherlands,
He succeeds Hans Op 't Veld, who is focusing on expanding the Sustainable Development Investment Asset Owner Platform, an organization PGGM co-founded with APG, AustralianSuper and British Columbia Investment Management Corp. in 2020, PGGM said in the news release issued Monday.
Mr. Klop "sees the main challenge for PGGM Investment Management in the coming years as defining the social impact of investments and incorporating this into the investment process," the release said.
