Wolf-Henning Scheider was named partner and head of private equity at Partners Group, a spokeswoman said in an email.
He will be based in the global private markets manager's headquarters in Baar-Zug, Switzerland, and will succeed David Layton, partner and CEO, as head of private equity. Mr. Layton will remain as partner and CEO, the spokeswoman said.
Mr. Scheider is currently CEO and chairman of the board of management at global technology company ZF Group. He will join Partners Group at the end of his current contract in early 2023, the Partners spokeswoman said.
Mr. Scheider will focus on the firm's four private equity industry categories of goods and products, health and life, services and technology, said a news release Tuesday. As of March 31, Partners owned more than 100 companies in 23 countries.
As of Dec. 31, Partners Group had more than $127 billion in assets under management.
