Kristen Eshak Weldon was named global head of ESG and impact investing at Partners Capital.
The position is new, spokeswoman Samantha Norquist confirmed in an email.
Ms. Weldon will be responsible for ensuring that asset managers incorporate ESG factors into their investment decisions, building impact investment portfolios and measuring the impact that those investments have on society and the planet. She will report to Euan Finlay, partner and chairman of Partner Capital's responsible investment committee, and Stan Miranda, founder and chairman.
Ms. Weldon was head of food innovation and downstream strategy at Louis Dreyfus Co. Her responsibilities have been assumed by Thomas Couteaudier, chief strategy officer and head of innovation and downstream, a company representative said in an email.
Separately, sources familiar with Partners Capital have confirmed that CIO Colin Pan will leave the company. Although his last day has not yet been determined, Mr. Pan will be with the firm for at least the next six months.
The firm is currently evaluating what the CIO role will look like going forward and how to best fill the role.
Partners Capital had $38 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
