Nik Singhal has been named managing director and group head of direct lending within the private credit business of ORIX Corp. USA, effective July 8.
It is a new position. Singhal will be based in New York and will report to Jeff Abrams, senior managing director and group head of private credit and real estate, said a news release June 25.
Singhal will “work closely with the relevant business line leaders to expand and grow the businesses, drive origination and performance, and strategically leverage the firm’s balance sheet,” the news release said.
He will also partner with ORIX USA’s asset management sales and distribution team to “continue to raise third-party capital and broaden the firm’s reach in the investor community,” the release added.
Singhal most recently was managing director and head of portfolio management for BlackRock’s U.S. private capital group. BlackRock could not be immediately reached for further details.
ORIX has $26.8 billion in assets under management, $48.6 billion in servicing and administration assets, and about $9.2 billion in proprietary assets, the release said.
