Sian Roberts joined Octopus Investments, effective immediately, as head of U.K. institutional distribution, according to a news release.
It is a new position. Roberts reports to Caroline Turner, global head of institutional sales and consultant relations, Roberts is expected to focus on bolstering the firm’s U.K. sales effort, including supporting fundraising efforts for funds such as the Octopus Affordable Housing Fund, Octopus Sustainable Infrastructure Fund, and Octopus Healthcare Fund.
Roberts was most recently a director on the multialternatives product strategy team at BlackRock, where she spent more than six years fundraising for the group's alternatives platform. Her responsibilities at BlackRock included designing solutions for investors, client engagement and fundraising. BlackRock has been contacted for comment regarding any replacement for Roberts.
“We are so excited for Sian to be joining the team, which only goes to further underline the strategic importance of the institutional business," Turner said in the news release. "Her expertise will be critical in helping us to expand our distribution capabilities within the U.K., which continues to be our core focus market.”
Octopus Investments has £13 billion ($16.4 billion) in assets under management and has a goal to increase that to £50 billion by 2030, the news release said.
