Benjamin Davis was named CEO of U.K. private markets firm Octopus Investments, a spokesman confirmed.
Mr. Davis replaced Ruth Handcock in the role. Ms. Handcock remains with Octopus Group and on Octopus Investments' board.
Mr. Davis, who was CEO of Octopus Real Estate, part of Octopus Group, now oversees all parts of the Octopus Investments business including retail and institutional fundraising and the investment teams. He reports to Simon Rogerson, founder and CEO of Octopus Group.
"Benjamin is a perfect example of the leaders we look for at Octopus. He is passionate about our mission and has already delivered several significant initiatives that have contributed to it. This is the latest milestone for Benjamin in what's already been a brilliant, varied career at Octopus, and I have supreme confidence in his ability to lead Octopus Investments," Mr. Rogerson said in a news release.
Edward Clough will succeed Mr. Davis as managing director of Octopus Real Estate. Mr. Clough was head of corporate development. He retains those responsibilities.
Octopus has £12.8 billion ($15.4 billion) in assets under management.
