Jerilyn Castillo McAniff, managing director and senior analyst in the U.S. high yield bond group at Oaktree Capital Management, has been named head of diversity and inclusion for the alternative money manager.
The position is new, a spokeswoman said in an email. She will report to CEO Jay Wintrob.
Ms. McAniff will lead efforts to increase employment of women and underrepresented groups, enhance recruitment and retention programs, as well as improve diversity in Oaktree's portfolio companies and boards of directors.
"While our efforts in diversity and inclusion have been underway for years, we recognize that we have more work to do to achieve the goals we've set out for our firm and to affect lasting change within our industry and the communities we serve," Mr. Wintrob said in a news release. "We have complete confidence in Jerilyn's ability to drive our initiatives forward and ensure accountability at all levels of our organization."
As of March 31, Oaktree Capital Management had $153 billion in assets under management.
