Ted Maa has joined Nuveen as managing director of private equity impact investing.
Mr. Maa takes on a newly created position, a Nuveen spokeswoman said by email.
In this role, Mr. Maa will be responsible for "identifying, executing and managing direct private equity investments in key thematic impact sectors," said a Monday email from Nuveen.
Mr. Maa will be based in New York and report to Rekha Unnithan, managing director and global head of private equity impact investing,
Most recently, he was a partner at Pine Brook Partners, a private equity firm focused on growth equity investing in the energy and financial services sectors.
Pine Brook could not be immediately reached for further details.
Nuveen had $14 billion in private equity assets under management as of June 30, the spokeswoman added.
The company had a total AUM of $1.1 trillion as of that date, she added.
