Anwiti Bahuguna was named chief investment officer of global asset allocation at Northern Trust Asset Management.
It is a new position, spokeswoman Joanne Zalatoris said in an email. Ms. Bahuguna will report to Global CIO Angelo Manioudakis and oversee NTAM's asset allocation and multimanager teams.
She will also join Northern Trust's investment policy committee and will be a "key contributor in the development of the firm's asset allocation recommendations," a news release said Thursday.
"Increasingly, our clients are looking for holistic asset management solutions to their most complex investment challenges," Mr. Manioudakis said in the news release. "With the addition of such an accomplished investment professional to our team, I am confident we can continue meeting the evolving needs of investors."
Ms. Bahuguna was most recently head of U.S. multi-asset strategy at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Daniel Boncarosky, a senior portfolio manager with Columbia Threadneedle's global asset allocation team, assumed Ms. Bahuguna's title following her departure in February, said Lisa Feuerbach, spokeswoman, in an email.
As of June 30, Northern Trust Asset Management had $1.1 trillion in assets under management. The firm's multiasset and multimanager portfolios had $125 billion in AUM as of that day.
