Therese Niklasson was named global head of sustainable investment at Newton Investment Management, effective Feb. 7, a spokeswoman confirmed Monday.
Ms. Niklasson will replace Andrew Parry, who left earlier this year, the spokeswoman added. Mr. Parry said in an email response to questions that he was named head of investment at JO Hambro Capital Management.
Based in London, Ms. Niklasson will join the Newton executive committee and will oversee the responsible research agenda and lead the integration of ESG factors into the firm's investment processes across strategies and asset classes, reporting to CEO Euan Munro.
"Therese's extensive experience and proven track record in building global ESG capabilities and influencing and transforming investment teams' approach to sustainability issues, will be instrumental in driving Newton's vision and continued development of our sustainable investment franchise," Mr. Munro said in a news release.
Ms. Niklasson worked as global head of sustainability at Ninety One. A spokeswoman could not be immediately reached to provide details of her replacement.
Newton had $139.1 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
